Althea 205 is a modern, stylish 2 bedroom, fully air conditioned, self catering Penthouse Apartment with not too distant sea views.  This lovely, spacious apartment comfortably sleeps up to 6 people and is situated on an exclusive new development on the outskirts of the all year round, traditional town of Paralimni in South East Cyprus.  The open-plan living/dining area and well equipped kitchen are complimented by a large, private patio/sun terrace which is bathed in warm Mediterranean sunshine from sunrise to almost sunset – ideal for relaxing with a ‘sundowner’ and barbecue.

Excellently located between the traditional Cypriot town of Paralimni and Kapparis, there is a good selection of shops, bars, restaurants and traditional tavernas just 5 - 10 minutes away. A local fruit market and a large, modern supermarket are within a few minutes walk; and traditional local handicraft shops, nestling alongside modern boutiques and stores, can be found in the centre of Paralimni.  Banks and ATM machines are also available in the centre of town.

In contrast, beautiful ‘Fig Tree Bay' and the picturesque nature reserve ‘Cape Greco' are just a 10 - 15 minute car drive away; a selection of reputedly some of the best sandy beaches on the island are just 5 - 10 minutes away.  Making this a lovely and convenient location for a relaxing family holiday; ideal for couples and families of all ages.

For those seeking the more ‘lively’ and ‘adventurous’ past times, the ‘resort’ towns of Protaras and Ayia Napa – with their waterparks and multitude of bars and restaurants - are just a 10 to 15 minute car drive away, approx 20 to 25 minutes by bus.  However, many of the attractions, bars, restaurants, etc., in these resort areas are closed during the low season - November to April.

Deposit :- To reserve dates a deposit of £100.00 will be required at time of booking.  This deposit is non refundable if booking is cancelled by client.

Balance of rental costs will be required a minimum of 8 weeks prior to occupancy.  Late bookings are to be paid in full at time of booking.

Changeover Days, Check In/Out :- Availability Calendar

Changeover days are flexible.  Check In is after 3pm on date of arrival / Check Out is before 11 am on date of departure.  See calendar for availability before submitting Booking Form.

 

Accommodation :-

Bedroom 1 :-  Double bed, dressing table, mirror & stool, bedside table & lamp, fitted wardrobes/cupboards, remote controlled air conditioning/heating unit, electric standing fan.

Bedroom 2 :-  Two single beds, bedside table & lamp, fitted wardrobes/cupboards, mirror, remote controlled air conditioning/heating unit, electric standing fan.

Kitchen :-  Electric oven, hob & extractor fan, microwave oven, fridge, washing machine, kettle, toaster, crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, pots, pans, etc.

Living Area :-  Large open plan living/dining area consisting of 3 seater double sofa bed, armchair, coffee table and nest of occasional tables, entertainment system [TV, DVD Player, Music Centre with CD Player, Tape & Radio Tuner], dining table with 4 chairs, fanlight, remote controlled air conditioning/heating unit.

Bathroom :-  Bath with shower over, wash basin, mirror, WC.

Sun Terrace/Patio :-  Patio set (comprising of table, adjustable parasol, 4 folding chairs), 4 Sunloungers, 2 patio chairs with cushion seat pads, gas barbecue.

Additional :-  Hairdryer, steam iron & ironing board, children’s highchair, baby’s cot.

 

Cleaning / Towels / Linen :-

All bed linen and towels (with exception of beach towels) are provided - guests are requested to provide their own towels for beach use.  The apartment will be cleaned and have fresh linen / towels prior to your arrival.  Clean linen and towels will be provided at the end of each week's rental period.   

 

Notes on Accommodation / Conditions :-

Our apartment caters for families and couples only – maximum of 6 people.  Bookings will not be accepted for all male or all female groups and we reserve the right to refuse entry if such a booking has been made and not disclosed - any monies paid will be forfeited in this case.  No pets allowed.

 

Travel :-

Fly to Larnaca International Airport, Cyprus.   For some suggested airlines/on-line flight booking companies click on  Flights/Car Hire Links   Flight time from UK to Larnaca is approximately 4 hours 30 minutes outbound and 5 hours inbound.

Larnaca Airport to Paralimni is approximately 45 minutes by car - mostly easy motorway driving. Driving in Cyprus is on the left - same as the UK.

A car is not necessary, but is advisable.  Car Hire can be arranged for collection/drop off at Larnaca Airport (must be booked in advance – click on  Flights/Car Hire Links  for a selection of car hire companies); alternatively, you can arrange your car hire locally during your stay.

If you prefer not to drive, we can arrange a transfer service from - and back to - Larnaca Airport at a greatly reduced rate than taxis.  This needs to be booked in advance though - payment to be made in Cyprus on arrival (email althea_205@yahoo.co.uk for current rates).

The local bus service from Paralimni to Protaras & Ayia Napa is cheap – around 70 cents (approx 90 pence GB) - and runs approximately every 20 - 30 minutes during the day on weekdays & Saturdays, every hour during the day on Sundays. There is also a reliable and affordable bus service for travel throughout Southern Cyprus.

 

Climate & Temperature :-

One of the benefits of Cyprus being a Mediterranean island is the plentiful sunshine throughout the year.  Cyprus epitomizes the ideal weather of the region with sunny days and fine temperatures almost every day; and nine months of Summer, three of Spring.  Autumn and Winter do not really exist, and the rainy season is short.  Snow falls only on the highest mountains – the ‘Troodos’ range - in December, January and February.

Further Details :-

There are plenty of activities to do locally and throughout Southern Cyprus - ranging from various water sports, diving, boat trips, fishing, golf, sightseeing, walking, inland safaris, zoos, museums, historical sites and water parks to name but a few.

 

General :-

We would advise all guests to ensure that they have adequate travel insurance when booking has been confirmed.  Travel insurance should cover Medical Treatment, Flight Cancellation and suchlike.

Electricity in Cyprus is 220V with 3 pin plugs/sockets (same as UK).

Unit of Currency was changed in January 2008 from Cyprus Pounds (CY£) to the Euro       currency converter
